Webinar Title: "Ethical Hacking"
I. Details of the event
The first webinar that I attend was called “Ethical Hacking”. In this webinar the speaker teach us what is ethical hacking, advantage of it and many more. The one who organized this webinar was Team Upskill and the speaker that time was Mr. Happy Rafols. This webinar held on March 19, 2022 Saturday 2:00pm.
II. Reflection on webinar / Activity Learnings
In this webinar I learned that ethical hacking is a method used to attack computer systems and it is an act that focuses on enhancing the security and maintaining the privacy of computer networks. Hacker is trying to find ways to how one can crack or hack in to someone’s system. I learned that the advantage of ethical hacking is to help protect your data and infrastructure like confidential data and any database record from cyber criminals. As someone who attend this webinar it will save you money because you are able to predict and prevent possible exploits from the hacker. Ethical Hacking are also done by white hat hackers, these people get paid by the company to find vulnerabilities in their system. Once they find out they will provide information to the company so that they can prevent future hacks. Some hacker use software specifically designed to hack, damage or gain unauthorized access into a computer, known as a malware. In this webinar it shows how to install virtual box and linux to do some phishing tricks to the victim but this tutorial is no way intended to promote cyber crimes, it’s created for the sake of learning and understanding different aspects of cyber security. This tool created by htr-tech and it is called Zphisher, there’s a lot of phishing method like facebook, twitter, instagram, paypal and etc. Once the victim receive a link and put their username and password it will automatically send the information to the hacker. My advice for all people, I hope that before they put their account information check the url if it’s legitimate and don’t install suspicious application. For those hacker, there’s a consequence of hacking someone without their consent or approval. To prevent to this kind of situation is change your password regularly at least once a month, don’t use obvious personal details for password, watch out for phishing scams, use anti-virus software and keep it updated and think before you click. I learned a lot of things in this webinar and I’m thankful that I able to attend this webinar because it gives me awareness and knowledge.
III. Reflection on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level
With the knowledge or ideas that I learned in webinar I can prevent myself from being hack by someone and to aware what application I will install in the future, because not all the application is safe and some of it maybe a malware. So to avoid that install only the legitimate application and also install anti-virus and keep updated. Always check the url if its correct and think before you click.
IV. Feedback on the event organizer
Well I can say that this webinar is worth it because it gave us a new ideas and understanding about this ethical hacking and also how to prevent yourself to become victim of ethical hacking. The speaker is good since he is able to explain to us the cyber security and tools. The organizer is also approachable because they are answering every question we ask to them with a proper manner. They help us to be aware and guide us on how to protect ourselves from the hacking.
V. Suggestion for improvement to be made / consider for future activities
Nothing since they are able to explain us perfectly about ethical hacking and In e-cert they immediately give to us after the webinar.
